If you read deeper, some of the writings of the greatest works alive still stay lit for centuries – as a reminder for humanity’s incapability I believe.
These are some of my favourites…
“Events bring about the souls of the dead” ~ the reason why I don’t celebrate birthdays – the glamourizing of human beings and the fact that you can’t get over your own history.
“Our whole social environment seems to us to be filled with forces which really exist only in our own minds” ~ the stupidity of nations, immigration laws and imaginary walls of passport control. Are you creating imaginary walls to create imaginary jobs?
“A goal without a plan is just a wish” ~ which makes me wonder how people sitting in front of computers are more desired than people on the ground.
“Life is most readily renounced at the time and among the classes where it is least harsh” ~ good thing I never wanted to live in the penthouse of the Empire State building.
“The most successful ideological effects are those which have no need for words, and ask no more than complicitous silence” ~ shut up, learn to listen, and do.
“A highly developed stock exchange cannot be a club for the cult of ethics” ~ why let Facebook run your morality?
“Memory is the burden to humanity’s progression” ~ forget about that cheat and death, ya?
“Every type of purely direct concrete description bears the mark of artistic portrayal” ~ no I’m not a bad boy. Describe me better at how pleasurably bad I can be.
